Gerardo is currently a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program and is part of the Family, Mood, and Relationships (FRAM) lab at Miami University. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of California, Riverside, in 2023. His main research interests involve negative emotion differentiation (NED), which refers to the extent to which people experience negative emotions as being different from each other, and how NED relates to emotion regulation and internalizing psychopathology in youth. In his free time, Gerardo enjoys playing video games, watching or listening to true crime, and spending time with his fur baby (aka his cat)!
